Our Competitive Program
Who we are
Spring Action Trampoline Centre is home to countless Regional, Ontario, Canadian and International titles in a variety of acrobatic sports. To name just a few of our notable athletes - Heather Ross-McManus - 2004 Olympian, Brenna Casey - 1999 & 2001 World Age Group Champion and 2004/2008 Olympic Alternate, Cedric Belisle - 2007 Canadian Team Member and Bronze medalist at Indo-Pacifics 2006, Jeff Bean - 1998, 2002 & 2006 Olympian Aerial Skier, Jenny Barker - World Junior Wakeboard Champion.... The list could go on forever but at Spring Action we don't measure our success in medals but in personal bests and team spirit!
Our Competitive Philosophy
Assessments will provide information on our competitive trampoline programs and will help us to determine what level you are currently at, and which stream would be the best for you to join! It will be a fun, low-pressure environment where you can meet some of our current team members, and find out more about the competitive teams. Competitive Trampoline is fun, exciting, challenging and rewarding. It also requires hard work, dedication and perseverance. Competitive sports help us develop life skills such as goal setting, time management, positive thinking, sportsmanship, teamwork and social skills. At Spring Action we are committed to helping our athletes to be great people as well as great athletes.
At Spring Action we believe that “being a champion means achieving your personal best”. Success is not always based on medals or placing, and we encourage our team members to set performance-based goals that relate to the individual’s own performance, not that of other athletes. We help athletes to set attainable goals, and then work toward achieving them one step at a time.
Competitive Streams
We have three different competitive streams:
1 - Interclub - This is an introduction to trampoline as a competitive sport. The interclub athletes jump two days per week with an optional third day of training. Athletes will have the opportunity to represent Spring Action at 4 local invitational competitions.
2 - Pre-Provincial - This is a group of athletes that are ready or close to ready to competing at the provincial level, but are not ready for the time, financial and travel commitment. These athletes train twice a week (with an optional third day) along side the provincial group and may have the option of moving up to the provincial level within during the season. Athletes will have the opportunity to represent Spring Action at 4 local invitational competitions.
3 - Provincial - Our provincial athletes are those that show the skill level, work ethic, attitude and commitment to pursue excellence in sport. Athletes who are competing at the Provincial stream train 3-4 days per week and will represent Spring Action at three Ontario Cups throughout the year with the intention of qualifying for Ontario Championships. They will also be competing for the opportunity to represent Ontario at the Eastern Canadian Championships.
Our 2016-2017 Competitive Handbook is available upon request. Please email us at info@springaction.ca if you have any further questions! We hope to see you representing Spring Action soon!
